Why We Should Plant More Trees?
Glaciers are melting! It’s high time we take action.
They moderate the effects of sun and wind, and they clean the air by trapping dust, pollen, and other pollutants.
Most importantly, trees sequester carbon, helping to remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air, and removing pollution, which cools the earth. A mature canopy tree absorbs enough carbon and releases enough oxygen to sustain two human beings!

Tree Plantation Diversified Socio-economic Impact
Rural farmers are helped to improve their livelihoods by planting Coconut trees and fruit trees, in their land. These tree plantations help promote women’s empowerment and independence, increase biodiversity in the region, reduce poverty, and improve greening in some of the driest places. The selected areas where afforestation is carried out are geographically devoid of trees. The aim is to increase green cover in villages by planting trees and, at the same time, help rural farmers enhance their livelihoods through fruiting seedlings.

Eco Clubs in Schools and Colleges play an important role in tree plantation and creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. Eco Clubs have been established in Government, Aided, Private, and Public Schools, and Colleges. All Schools and Colleges can create a clean and green environment on their campus.

Viruksham On Wheels – Swift Tree Plantation
Quick & Efficient Tree Plantation
The “Viruksham on Wheels” initiative of MMF, is a vehicle-based quick and efficient tree plantation drive mechanism, utilizing modern scientific tools and methods, to ensure quick and effective tree plantation. Under this initiative, MMF envisions to plant more than 1 million trees by 2025. This will result in the fixation of more than 22,000 tons of CO2 from the surrounding environment per year, hence reducing the carbon footprint multifold.
